Joints damaged by a prosthesis can lead to severe complications, causing significant pain and often requiring surgical reintervention to resolve the issue.
This is my passion and area of clinical research, as well as the main focus of my work in recent years. Addressing complications associated with unsuccessful prosthetic procedures is my greatest expertise.

What stood out for me was how professional yet personal Dr Sousa was – he took time to explain the options, involve me in the decisions and make sure I felt comfortable throughout.

Two knee replacement surgeries
After hospital stays, external fixators and seeing my leg bend the wrong way, Prof. Ricardo Sousa's realistic but hopeful approach gave me safety, structure and the confidence to believe in my recovery again.

Infection in a knee fracture
I suffered a knee injury that severely debilitated me. I was operated on by Dr. Ricardo and am recovering quite well; I've regained mobility and am satisfied. The fact that he is attentive and helpful instilled great confidence in me, offering a service truly unparalleled by any other professional I've encountered before.
